Rectify engine overheating guide

CHECK LIST where the engine is in good running condition relating to mainly V8’s.

#1 Pick up line to water pump is clear and not restricted.
Recommend using a suitable water filter prior to water pump to catch unwanted debris.
#2 Assuming the water pump is in the required good condition and had no broken parts of an impeller that has occurred and lodged in the system which would require finding.
#3 Visual check the T piece from the pump for obstructions.
#4 After the T piece suggest fitting a pressure gauge in the line to test for pressure.
For testing have motor idling at around 700 rpm.
If a ball tap is also installed after the gauge and a tap in the other line then the operating pressure of the pump can be tested by turning off the flow for max. 5 seconds to obtain max. pressure at idle.
Pressure should exceed 20lbs. if pump is in a serviceable condition.
