Power out model v dual function free fall model Power out:

This function pays out the electric power from the motor and you will need to keep pressing the ‘down’ switch until the anchor reaches the sea bed. You have the option of manually free falling the anchor by lifting the tension arm (finger above the gypsy).

Free fall:

In this function, when you press the ‘down’ button, the clutch will open and the anchor will drop to the bottom. Once at the bottom, the clutch will re engage automatically when you remove your hand from the switch. Guaranted precision anchoring so you will never miss that great fishing spot!

NOTE: The dual free fall option allows you to select between the power out and free fall functions.

Nylon gypsy vs stainless steel gypsy

This depends on the frequency of use. If you will not be using your windlass frequently, we recommend the nylon gypsy If you will be using your windlass frequently, we recommend the stainless stain gypsy Our gypsies are capable of taking both rope and chain.
